What are the Awana Olympics?
Sparks-A-Rama (Kindergarten – 2nd Grade) A high-energy, fun-filled event designed to introduce younger clubbers to team play. It focuses on participation and excitement rather than high-pressure competition. Clubbers play games they know and love—like the Sparky Crawl and Balloon Pop.
The Awana Games (T&T: 3rd – 6th Grade) A spirited, competitive athletic event. Teams compete on the official Awana Game Square in relay races and circle games. The goal is to display character, teamwork, and focus under pressure while modeling Christ-like sportsmanship.
This is an "Interest List" Registration
This form registers your child’s intent to participate. Because this is a large, multi-church regional event, final participation depends on two critical factors:
- Our Team Size: We must have enough committed MFBC clubbers to form a legal team (specific ratios of boys/girls are required).
- Regional Participation: The event requires enough participation from other Awana clubs in the Treasure Valley. If total regional registration is too low, the event directors may be forced to cancel the Games.
We will be in constant communication with you as we monitor the numbers. If the event or our specific team cannot move forward, we will notify you immediately.
The Leadership
We are excited to announce that Tys Haveman (Games Director) will be serving as the Head Coach for the MFBC Awana Teams this year. He will be leading the practices and guiding the teams on game day.
Event Details
- Competition Date: Saturday, March 14 (Times TBD)
- Location: Kuna Baptist Church
- Who: Sparks (K–2nd) & T&T (3rd–6th)
Mandatory Practice
- Date: Saturday, March 7
- Location: MFBC FMC
- Sparks Practice: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (Times to be confirmed)
- T&T Practice: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (Times to be confirmed)
Important: This practice is mandatory. Coach Tys and the leaders will use this time to teach the specific game rules and assess the clubbers. To insure safety and competitiveness, clubbers must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and play safely during this practice (and during Wednesday nights) to be placed on the final roster.
Parent Commitments
By registering, you agree to the following if the team moves forward:
- Transportation: Parents are responsible for transporting their child to the practice (MFBC) and the Event (Kuna Baptist).
- Shoes: Clubbers MUST wear non-marking sneakers. No hiking boots, Crocs, or dress shoes are allowed on the game floor.
- No-Show Policy: Because teams require exact numbers, a last-minute no-show can disqualify the whole team. We ask for 100% commitment to the dates above.
